The position is responsible for the review of patient records and accurate assignment of ICD-9-CM, CPT-4, and HCPC codes. The subsequent verification of charges and documentation to provide the appropriate APC and/or DRG.
Education:
·High School Graduate or GED required.
Experience:
·Two years experience as an inpatient coder in an acute care hospital environment.
Proficient ICD-9-CM and CPT coding and DRG optimization.
Licences/Certificates:
·RHIA Registration, RHIT Registration or CCS Certification
